Natasha Rogers, a 34-year-old Educational Consultant from London, says she also looks in charity shops for unique gifts for someone special. “My Dad loves history and reading, so he always gets a second-hand book from me for Christmas. As a society, I think we are fixated on buying unsustainably or having the latest fashion or gadgets, without thinking about all the waste this creates and the repercussions that this is having on the environment. Charity shopping combats this by offering a sustainable way of shopping. I would also encourage people to donate their unwanted goods to charity shops, rather than throw them out.”
