E.ON Next has announced its biggest ever electricity giveaway, with three consecutive days of free electricity over the festive season for new and existing customers who sign up to the Next Reward Days 12-month Fixed tariff by 3 December 2024.

The Free Electricity Days campaign will see eligible customers pay nothing on any electricity used on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (24-26 December). Standing charges will also be waived for the three days.

In 2023, demand for electricity rose by 7.3% in the first week of December as the nation switched on its Christmas lights, according to statistics from the National Grid*.

Typically, ‘free energy days’ are issued as a bill credit based on an estimated average daily cost. This campaign is different, E.ON Next will charge nothing for electricity usage and standing charges for 24-26 December – regardless of how much electricity is used.

By opting for the Next Reward Days 12-month Fixed tariff, customers will lock in their rate and protect themselves against potential price rises.

To be eligible, customers must have a smart meter, an online account and pay by Direct Debit.

• Free Electricity Days: Customers will be charged zero pence (£0.00) for their electricity consumption, including applicable standing charges, incurred 24th-26th December 2024.

• Smart Meter Requirement: Customers must have a smart meter to be eligible. E.ON Next must be able to connect to and receive meter readings from the smart meter.

• Online Account and Direct Debit: Mandatory for the offer.

• Early Termination Fee: A £50 fee per fuel applies for early termination.
