Gotion launches official delivery for Africa's largest standalone storage project in Egypt, first 50 trucks depart.
With full DC-to-AC integration, from in-house cells, BMS and DC systems to AC-side PCS and transformers, Gotion Grid serves as a critical buffer for grid stability and peak-shaving.

JINZHAI, China, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sept. 28, Gotion has launched global delivery for what will be Africa's largest AC-coupled energy storage project. Fifty heavy-duty trucks loaded with its self-developed Gotion Grid 5MWh storage systems departed simultaneously from its Jinzhai and Nantong facilities, marking the start of full-scale delivery.

Gotion Grid will serve Egypt's Nefertiti and Horus projects--the country's first large-scale standalone storage projects and, once completed, Africa's largest standalone storage facilities. Developed by AMEA Power and built by China Energy Engineering Group, and powered by Gotion's solutions, they will strengthen grid stability, support solar and wind integration, and advance Egypt's 2030 clean energy goals. Upgraded for extreme heat, sandstorms and salt fog, Gotion's systems offer high-voltage stability, high safety and millisecond-level response, enhancing solar consumption at Benban and providing flexible peak-shaving for the Zafarana wind farm.

Gotion's ability to complete the first shipment within three months of signing demonstrates its strength in large-scale storage integration, global supply chain coordination, and localized delivery.

"This shipment opens a new stage of broader cooperation," said by Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, "We are proud and satisfied with our partnership with Gotion and are actively exploring new opportunities across the Middle East and Africa."

Li Chen, Senior Vice President of Gotion and President of Gotion Americas said, "Egypt is Gotion's key step into the Middle East and North Africa, proving it can deliver end-to-end, operate locally, and commit for the long term."
