London, UK - September 8, 2026 - In celebration of 60 years of Star Trek, Le Creuset today announces the launch of its limited-edition Star Trek Collection, featuring multiple shapes and materials created in partnership with Paramount Products & Experiences. Inspired by the pioneering franchise’s enduring legacy of curiosity, courage and hope, the collection invites fans to bring the spirit of discovery from the final frontier into their kitchens.

SENT INTO SPACE

To mark this historic milestone, Le Creuset executed an epic launch of unprecedented scale - marking the first time the brand has launched a product into space, and the first time a cast-iron casserole has ever reached the stratosphere. Partnering with Sent Into Space, the world’s leading provider of commercial Near Space launches, Le Creuset sent the flagship Enterprise Round Casserole with Starfleet Insignia Knob to the edge of space.

Because of the sheer weight of solid cast iron, the piece couldn't simply be carried as payload - the Enterprise casserole was engineered to become the spacecraft itself.

Launching from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, the cast-iron spacecraft was lifted by a sustainable hydrogen-filled balloon to a peak altitude of 110,095 feet (33.5 km). Soaring above 99.5% of Earth’s atmosphere, it spent 1 hour, 19 minutes, and 4 seconds in the stratosphere - enduring temperatures down to -63.4°C against the backdrop of space. After a total flight time of 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 36 seconds, the Enterprise safely returned to Earth via parachute, landing gracefully in Lincolnshire.
