After England’s quarter-final victory, Norse Atlantic Airways will operate a dedicated flight from London Gatwick to Atlanta, giving English supporters the chance to follow their team play Argentina in the semi-final.

“We have spent the past weeks helping Norwegian fans follow their team across the United States. After England’s win, it felt completely natural to offer English supporters the same opportunity. Gatwick is one of our large airports and we want to help make the semi-final journey possible for as many fans as we can, says Eivind Roald, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways.

Norse has – in line with its Airline on Demand model – operated flights for Norwegian fans during the tournament, creating a unique atmosphere on board with songs, rowing and a sense of the match beginning long before kick-off.

The airline now wants to bring that same experience to English fans.

“These flights are not just about getting from one airport to another. They are about bringing supporters together. We have seen how powerful that can be for Norwegian fans, and we want England supporters to feel that the semi-final starts the moment they step on board,” says Roald.

Strong ties across the North Sea

Although Norway’s World Cup journey has ended, Norse says the connection between Norwegian and English football remains strong.

Generations of Norwegians have grown up watching English football on television, following English clubs and travelling to matches in the UK. For many Norwegian fans, English football has been part of their football upbringing.

“Of course we would have loved to see Norway continue. But if anyone was going to end the Norwegian dream, there is something special about it being England. The football ties between Norway and England run deep. Many Norwegians have grown up with English football as part of their lives and are eager to see “football coming home,”, says Roald.

From Viking flights to England’s road to Atlanta

The flight will be operated by one of Norse Atlantic’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with space for 338 passengers.

“We learned from the Norwegian flights that something special happens when supporters travel together. Songs start, strangers become friends and the whole aircraft becomes part of the build-up. That is what we want to create for England fans on the way to Atlanta,” says Roald.

Tickets will be made available at flynorse.com Sunday evening. The flight will depart from Gatwick on Tuesday 14th at 19:40, arriving in Atlanta 23:30. The return will be after the semi-final Thursday 16th at 22:30, arriving in London Friday 17th at 11:25.
