Spider-Man fever has well and truly hit gamers following the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with sales of games featuring the superhero up more than 750%.

New sales data from digital game store Loaded reveals sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2023) have increased by 769% in the two weeks since the film’s release.

Meanwhile combined sales across all Spider-Man titles, which include Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, have surged by 583% since the new movie hit UK cinemas on July 31st.

The sales suggest excitement around Spider-Man’s latest big-screen outing has inspired fans to go back and play some of the iconic web-slinging character’s recent gaming adventures.

Sales of the series’ predecessors, Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) Remastered and Miles Morales (2020), also saw massive increases, rising by 649% and 602% respectively, over the same time period.

The wider Marvel gaming catalogue has also benefited from the film’s popularity. Sales of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (2021) and Midnight Suns (2022) increased by 330% and 406% respectively.

The increase comes after Tom Holland's latest Spider-Man outing recorded the second-biggest global opening weekend in cinema history, taking $927m worldwide, behind only Avengers: Endgame.

Cormac Moylan, Chief Marketing Officer at Loaded, said: “It’s clear that Spider-Man is still very much one of the world’s favourite superheroes and Brand New Day has only reaffirmed that.

“We’ve seen a dramatic increase in the sales of Spider-Man games since the film’s release, with players around the world keen to jump back into games that have become firm fan favourites.
