● E.ON Next has launched the Next Direct Fixed 24-month v1 tariff, available exclusively through the supplier, ahead of the 1 April increase to the Energy Price Cap.

● Ofgem is increasing the Energy Price Cap for Q2 (April – June 2025), for customers who use gas and electricity, to £1,849 per year for a typical household.

E.ON Next has launched a new tariff ahead of April’s Energy Price Cap rise, allowing households to ‘lock in’ a competitive energy rate for the next two winters.

Next Direct Fixed 24-month v1 is priced at £1,716 for a typical household using gas and electricity. It is currently the cheapest two-year fixed product of the UK’s six biggest energy suppliers.

From April 1, the typical household using gas and electricity on a standard variable rate (such as Next Flex) will pay £1,849, meaning E.ON Next’s new and exclusive tariff offers an annual saving of £133 against the April cap.

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, said: “With the Energy Price Cap rising again early next week, we’re delighted to be making a difference with a very competitive fixed tariff that allows customers to ‘beat the cap’ and lock in the amount they pay for energy for two years.
