A Glasgow content creator to be the first influencer in the UK to raffle off his home has now passed £60,000 in ticket sales just two months after launch, while also generating thousands for a children’s charity.

Darren “Dazza” Dowling launched the competition through Raffall.com earlier this year, giving people the chance to win either his three-bedroom Glasgow house mortgage-free or choose a £100,000 cash alternative instead.

“I’d seen influencers give away cars and money before, but nobody seemed to be risking their actual home. The idea sounded completely ridiculous at first, which is why I ended up doing it in the first place!”

The competition has rapidly gained traction across social media, helped by Dazza’s audience of more than 700,000 followers and the growing online buzz surrounding the unusual giveaway.

The eventual winner can choose to take ownership of the house with legal fees covered or instead opt for a £100,000 cash alternative.

With the competition running until February 2027, Dazza says the charity contribution is expected to continue growing alongside ticket sales over the coming months.

“The dream scenario is obviously somebody’s life gets changed completely at the end of this,” he said. “But if we can also raise a serious amount for these kids along the way, that means just as much to me.”

The campaign arrives during a time when housing affordability remains a major issue across the UK, with many supporters describing the raffle as one of the few opportunities ordinary people realistically must completely change their living situation for the cost of a coffee.
