It’s official - the nation's obsession with the 90s is alive and well. Brits are nostalgic for retro party-style food and drink, and Tesco has the snacks (and the stats) to prove it.

To celebrate 30 years of the iconic Tesco Clubcard, the supermarket has delved into its sales data which reveals that 90s inspired food and drink is flying off the shelves.1 Turns out Brits aren’t just nostalgic for butterfly clips and boybands, they’re rediscovering the flavours of the 90s too:

Clubcard members from more than 23 million Clubcard households have treated themselves to the following over the past 12 months:

• 55,000 tonnes of Potato Waffles – weighing more than 4,000 double decker buses.

• 38m Freddos – over 100,000 every week.

• 800k Pot Noodles each week – enough to fill the seats in Wembley Stadium nearly nine times.

• Ben & Jerry’s is most popular in London and Northern Ireland, while Clubcard members in Scotland are crunching the most Discos.

Tesco has revealed the top 10 products that make Brits feel the most nostalgic2:

1. Wall’s Viennetta Ice Cream

2. Pick & Mix Sweets

3. Smirnoff Ice

4. McVitie's Club Biscuits

5. Pot Noodle

6. Capri Sun Drinks

7. Potato Waffles

8. KP Snacks Discos crisps

9. Cadbury’s Freddo bars

10. Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream
