A poll of 2,088 UK adults has revealed that witnessing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is the most in-demand experience on UK travellers’ bucket lists.

The poll asked UK residents to vote for the top travel destinations and activities they would like to experience during their lifetime.

Sitting proudly at the top of the ultimate traveller’s bucket list is seeing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in the northern hemisphere near the Arctic Circle.

Travelling on the world-famous Orient Express was the second most popular experience, followed by a safari in the heart of Africa.

Journeying along the USA’s renowned Route 66 was voted in fourth position, whilst taking a train through Canada’s Rocky Mountains completed the top five.

As a provider of tailor-made trips, Audley Travel commissioned the research to identify the experiences that UK travellers would most like to tick off their bucket list over the coming years.
