Ever imagined what it would be like if a hugely successful covers band turned up in your local McDonald’s to surprise crew and customers? That’s exactly what happened to Stockport local and McDonald’s crew member, Evie Edwards as part of McDonald’s Christmas Carolling #ReindeerReady celebration to get everyone in early festive spirits.
From saxophonists performing in the kitchen, to pitch perfect vocals serenading shocked customers ordering at Kiosks, a glimpse of Christmas magic brought the community together at the local restaurant in Stockport at Mersyway Shopping Centre.
Evie Edwards, 17 said; “I couldn’t believe it when the band started popping up all over the restaurant singing all the classics, you have to see the look on everyone’s faces. It was so surreal and such a treat – I thought I was coming in for an extra shift and instead received an experience of a lifetime. As a singer myself I had entered a McDonald’s crew competition, but never in a million years expected to win. Getting to stand up and sing with the band was a dream come true.”
There’s Myrrh… McDonald’s took the experience further, bringing Carolling shows to the doorsteps of three lucky fans, all included a FREE McDonald’s order and side of festive cheer. Following a competition on the McDonald’s app, fans won a party on their doorstep with brass bands, choirs and professional vocalists to enjoy with their friends and family.
The Christmas Carolling experience forms the latest part of The Alternative Christmas List, six magical experiences ahead of Christmas designed to enhance festive fun in the run-up to the big day. Customers can head to ReindeerReady.co.uk where the final part will be released from Saturday 17th December.
Local McDonald’s Franchisee Stuart Broadbelt who owns and operates three restaurants in Stockport said; “Well, what a performance! When I found out Evie had won I never thought the band would put on such a show. We’re so pleased as a business to be able to celebrate our crew like this, especially in the busy run-up to Christmas. I hope all of the crew and customers really enjoyed such a special moment, I am sure it will be remembered for a long time.”
Whether its family traditions decorating the tree at home or heading out to listen to your favourite Christmas Carols, McDonald’s understands how important these moments are, helping bring merriment and magic to get the nation #ReindeerReady.
