2. Chaise lounge - 44.04%

3. Sectional sofa - 121.47%

4. Knole sofa - 56.84%

5. Mid-century modern sofa - 112.23%

6. Camelback sofa - 58.28%

7. Tuxedo sofa - 57.45%

8. English roll arm sofa - 163.44%

9. Lawson sofa - 246.94%

10. Cabriole sofa - 97.67%

The most searched style of sofa is the classic Chesterfield, but surprisingly, the streamlined Lawson couch is by far the design that’s growing in popularity the fastest.

The experts at Furniture Village have broken down the top features for each one of these gorgeous options.

Chesterfield sofa (class & glamour) – sophisticated, high rolled arms, beautiful buttoned detailing, structured back

Chaise lounge (practical & elegant) – upholstered sofa similar to a long reclining chair

Sectional sofa (versatile & comfortable) – multipiece couch with joined sections for sitting

Knole sofa (compact & regal) - concave front, high back and dropped arms

Mid-century modern sofa (minimalist & simplistic) - clean lines, rectangular silhouette, tapered legs

Camelback sofa (generous curves)– curved backs, with a single or a double arch, exposed legs and rolled arms

Whether that’s because we’ve been spending more time at home or just because we want that extra comfort, the styles of sofa that have seen the biggest search increases are the ones specially designed for you to put your feet up and relax.

The number of searches more than doubled for beloved comfy choices such as the English roll-arm sofa and the sectional couch. What makes these styles stand out is that they’re the go-to couches for lounging and napping.

The English roll-arm sofa makes a glorious addition to any living space. The eye-catching design includes the distinctive roll arms and deep seats that steal the show.

Sectional sofas sprawl in spacious living rooms to create the perfect lounging space for the entire family. Recliners, corner wedges and arm rests combine to make the perfect setting for stretching out and relaxing.

The Lawson sofas come with upholstered, rolled arms perfect for resting your head on during power naps or as you’re winding down at night.

Glamour and elegance are not as prized as they used to be

Couches on the opulent side are still popular, but according to the latest data, they’re not as searched for as the more comfortable options. The Chesterfield sofas are known for their timeless elegance but their search popularity might have flattened out already. The searches for compact couches such as the Knole or the Camelback style grew less than the sofas that encourage laying down and chilling.
