Furniture Village has looked into the recent search data and revealed a surprising colour palette for 2022. Beige is king, but accent colours are not far behind.

Surprisingly, the standout sofa colour over the last year is not a head-turner: it’s the humble beige. At least that’s what the huge increase in searches for this neutral sofa shade tells us (up 235% in 2021 compared to 2019). Although the colour has an undeserved reputation for being dull, its ability to create a cosy and welcoming ambiance is unmatched.

Put a beige sofa in any living room and watch it radiate warmth and sophistication. The number of searches for green, orange, teal and blue sofas has skyrocketed over the past two years, a sure sign that people are not afraid to experiment with bolder colours. Green is not known for being a staple sofa shade, yet more people are searching for green sofas than ever before, with a whopping 209% increase in searches in 2021 compared to 2019 - and with good reason. It’s almost impossible to make a green sofa look bad. They’re hard to ignore, fun to style and bring a hint of the outside into your four walls.

If you love sofas that demand attention, orange is always worth considering. This bright colour fills spaces with boho vibes and warm, feel-good energy.
