• Brits are splashing more cash than ever, in a bid to capture every moment of their wedding day

• Couples want stand-out content, with many opting for live-streaming (17%), drones (15%) and wearable cameras (10%)

• One in 10 (10%) surveyed would postpone their wedding if their photographer cancelled

Brits spend a fifth of their entire wedding budget on capturing their big day, according to new research by CEWE, Europe’s leading photo printing company.

With the average UK wedding costing an incredible £20,000, couples want to make the most of their investment, spending thousands on capturing every special moment throughout the day.

Adding to the traditional photographer and videographer, many are now choosing to book professional content creators to produce wedding reels and TikToks – with up to a fifth of their budget allocated to content alone.

While getting the right content for social media is increasingly important, traditional photography remains the favourite choice, with three-quarters (73%) of respondents booking a professional wedding photographer. Highlighting the importance of capturing their big day, one in 10 (10%) even stated that they would postpone their entire wedding if their photographer had to cancel last minute.

The research also revealed that couples are using technology to get creative, with 17% choosing to live-stream their nuptials, 15% using drones and one in ten (10%) opting for a wearable camera on the day. However, one wedding tradition remains, with more than two-thirds (68%) preferring a classic wedding album, over a digital option.
