“I left school with zero qualifications, and now I run my own company”
22-year-old Jayson Churn left school with zero qualifications and was told that he was “done for” and “should have tried harder”.
Jayson recalls watching his friends move on with their lives, heading to college and university, whilst he felt left behind.
With a passion for logistics and transport, Jayson set to work handing out his CV to local transport companies, before being hired as a Yard Hand where he was washing trucks in the freezing cold winter weather for £3.30 an hour, but loving every second.
Through sheer hard work and determination, Jayson has gone on to gain industry experience and qualifications. Today he is the proud owner of his own company, CWD Logistics, which is on track to achieve a £1 million turnover next year.
Jayson is an ambassador for Generation Logistics, as he provides hope for the future generation and encourages other young people to consider a career in logistics no matter what their qualifications may be.
