This Pancake Day, two icons are flipping tradition… In a debut collaboration, British coffee house Black Sheep Coffee and Lyle’s Golden Syrup are remixing Pancake Day to unveil a new seasonal sensation: The Pancake Syrup Latte.

Launching into Black Sheep Coffee stores nationwide from 11 February – 4 March, the Pancake Syrup Latte will be available served hot or over ice – for the golden taste of pancakes in a limited-time drink.

The exclusive recipe blends a double shot of 100% Robusta speciality coffee with Lyle’s Golden Syrup, mixed with steamed milk – finished with freshly squirty cream and a golden syrup drizzle.

Olivia Haley at Lyle’s said: “Golden Syrup and Pancake Day go hand in hand. It’s a beloved classic with over half a million packs of Lyle's Golden Syrup flying off shelves each year. We started with the traditional flavours everyone knows, then asked: ‘what if Pancake Day lived in a latte?’ The result feels familiar, but totally fresh.”

Georgia Roads, Head of Marketing at Black Sheep added: “This isn’t your usual pancake stack. We’re known for creating signature drinks and indulgent seasonal drops. That’s exactly what we’re serving with Lyle’s for a golden culture drop, not just a drink”.

To celebrate Pancake Day, fans can enjoy a Pancake Syrup Latte for just £1.00 during the ‘Golden Hour’ from 7:30–8:30 am on 17 February. Available at Black Sheep Coffee nationwide, exclusively via the Black Sheep Coffee app.

NOTES TO EDITORS

About Lyle’s Golden Syrup

Lyle’s Golden Syrup™ has been a staple of many family and professional kitchens since its first production in 1883. The unmistakable rich golden colour complements its indulgent flavour of buttery and caramel notes. It has proved a delicious and time-honored addition to many breakfasts’ foods such as pancakes, porridge and toast while it features in many classic and simple baking recipes including flapjacks, rocky road and sponge puddings.

Made with just one ingredient, the exact process remains a closely guarded secret at the Lyle’s Golden Syrup historic home near the River Thames in East London. Particularly well known for the iconic green tin which holds a Guinness World Record for the longest unchanged branding, it is also available in fully recyclable bottle formats.

About Black Sheep Coffee

In 2013, co-founders Eirik and Gabriel decided to quit their jobs on the same day and rid the world of boring average-tasting coffee. Sourcing the first specialty-grade 100% Robusta coffee, they went against the market trends and became the ‘Black Sheep’ of the coffee world, continuing that ethos throughout the brand.

Eirik and Gabriel remain actively involved in the business as co-CEOs and continue to travel the world to source the best beans whilst spreading Black Sheep’s message. Beyond their 100% speciality grade Robusta, a selection of four different specialty Arabica coffee beans are offered; Love Berries, Blue Volcano, Rebel Decaf and Seasonal Limited-Editions. At Black Sheep Coffee, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in store or at home.
